ZOMBIELAND: DOUBLE TAP Trailer

Hope you kept up your cardio because the zombies are back in Zombieland: Double Tap.

Wichita, Little Rock, Tallahassee, and Columbus are still going strong post-apocalypse, proving their laundry list of rules actually does help the makeshift group survive. Things can never stay the same, though, particularly since Little Rock has grown tired of her position as the baby. She takes off with a handsome stranger, sending the rest of the team chasing after her through a world infested with zombies and kooky survivors.

The original Zombieland was a lively edition to the then-thriving zombie genre, mixing in plenty of humor with its splashy gore. The film put director Ruben Fleischer on the map, and it looks like he’s bringing the same sort of energy to its sequel. It might appear like a slam dunk to bring him back, but Fleischer has struggled to live up to his initial promise with middling products like 30 Minutes or Less and Gangster SquadDouble Tap is his chance to return to form, and luckily he’s got the whole team back to help him out.

Yep, Emma StoneJesse EisenbergWoody Harrelson, and Abigail Breslin all return for this genre outing, because you can rack up Oscar nominations and shoot zombies in today’s Hollywood. The runaway success of the first means they got even more big names to co-star, including Zoey DeutchRosario DawsonLuke Wilson, and Thomas Middleditch.

With all the same pieces in place, Double Tap looks to pick up right where its predecessor left off. The question is whether the fandom is still interested ten years later.

Zombieland: Double Tap is directed by Ruben Fleischer and stars Emma StoneJesse EisenbergWoody Harrelson, and Abigail Breslin. It will be released in the US on October 11th, 2019 and in the UK on October 18th, 2019. For international release dates, click here.
