ZINZANA Trailer
Zinana is a prison film from the United Arabic Emirates and looks quite intruiging, based on the trailer. It is set in a dimly lit prison cell (a Zinzana) in a remote police station in Jordania. While awaiting his verdict, a prisoner is tortured by visions of his beloved ex-wife and son. Then, the story takes a turn as a cruel officer from the local police pays him an unofficial visit, which turns into a bloodbath. The prisoner comes the realise he might be safer off behind bars as he has to play the officer’s game to save his family’s lives.
An interesting premise! Zinzana (titled “Rattle The Cage” in English) is directed by Majid Al Ansari, features Ali Suliman, Ahd and Saleh Bakri. There are currently no release dates scheduled, but it will be screened at the London Film Festival.
