Here comes every new parents’ nightmare, an unattended child. T.S. Spivet is a 10-year-old cartographer who receives an unexpected call from the Smithsonian museum. He is told that he is the winner of the illustrious Baird prize for his discovery of the perpetual motion machine and invited to an event in his honor. Excited beyond belief, T.S. rushes off to Washington D.C. from Montana, leaving behind his cowboy father, naturalist mother and dreamer sister. An underlying concern exists about Mr. Spivet’s fraternal twin, Layton, who died in an accident no dares speak of. T.S. was there but what happened is a mystery to him.
The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet is directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and stars Kyle Catlett and Helena Bonham Carter. It’s out everywhere now.
