Imagine waking up in a world in which no one remembers The Beatles. This might sound crazy but it’s what happens to Jack Malick (Himesh Patel) after he gets hit by a bus.

As it turns out, all electricity went down for a while and no one remembers The Beatles, everyone except Jack that is. Once Jack discovers he’s the only one left who remembers the countless classic songs by the Fab Four, he sets out to become a worldwide mega star by plagiarizing their songs.

As time goes on, Jack’s super stardom starts to take a toll on his relationship with Ellie (Lily James) and to top things off, two men show up claiming to be the people who wrote many of the songs Jack has been performing. It’ll be interesting to see whether these two men will actually be played by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr but even if that doesn’t happen, Yesterday looks like it will be a fun film with a lot of great music.

Yesterday is directed by Danny Boyle and stars Himesh Patel, Lily James, Kate McKinnon, Ed Sheeran and James Corden. Yesterday will be released in the U.K. and U.S. on June 28th, 2019 . For international release dates click here.
