Paul King (Paddington) is bringing us the prequel that none of us knew that we needed this December in Warner Bros. Pictures, Wonka. Written by Paul King and Simon Farnaby, the film is a prequel to the 1971 Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory by Mel Stuart and Roald Dahl.
The movie is being lauded as a musical telling of the early years of the title character, Willy Wonka (played by Timothee Chalamet) as he finds his place in the world and his attempts at becoming the worlds greatest chocolatier. It will explore his time coming up with his famous recipes and building his empire all while dealing with the infamous chocolate cartel.
Wonka was directed by Paul King and has a stellar cast featuring; Timothee Chalamet, Keegan-Michael Key, Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman, and Hugh Grant as the Oompa Loompas. The film is being distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and is set to hit theaters and IMAX on December 15th.
