WIDOWS Trailer

It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since the release of 12 Years a Slave but it’s true. Widows is the first film adaptation of the eponymous British 1980s TV series about a group of wives who decide to start robbing banks after their husbands are killed during a botched robbery. Steve McQueen‘s widows are played by Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki and Cynthia Erivo.
Once their husbands are killed, their enemies, played by Brian Tyree Henry and Daniel Kaluuya, go after the widows to try and get the money their husbands owed them. Considering the star studded cast and the awards season friendly release date, Widows looks like it will be one of this year’s award season contenders.
Widows is directed by Steve McQueen and stars Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, Cynthia Erivo, Liam Neeson, Daniel Kaluuya, Robert Duvall and many more. It will be released on November 16th, 2018 in the U.S. and on November 9th, 2018 in the U.K. For international release dates click here.
