There is more than one way to find romance, in the cross-cultural rom-com, What’s Love Got to Do with it?
Documentary filmmaker Zoe (Lily James) has had a hard time finding love. When her childhood friend and neighbor Kazim (Shazad Latif) opts for an arranged marriage Zoe decides to capture the journey on film. Along the way, she begins to find a new look at love.
In recent releases, the rom-com seems to have taken a step back, especially in the world of wide-release features. Maybe this will mark a triumphant return. Early reviews from festivals seem to put it in a favorable light, and with the talent on board, it may just be a delightful time.
What’s Love Got to Do with It? is directed by Shekhar Kapur, written by Jemima Khan, and stars Lily James, Shazad Latif, and Emma Thompson. It will be released on January 27th, 2023. For more release dates click here.
