US Trailer

Jordan Peele is messing with your head again in Us, his heavily guarded follow-up to Get Out.
This time he centers his film on a family enjoying a beach vacation, which starts off innocuously enough with sand, surf, and vodka. Eventually, though, some mysterious people appear on their doorstep, and the family discovers that these unwelcome visitors seem to be replicas of themselves. A trippy development, for sure, and one that complicates their ability to fend off attacks. It’s the most even match imaginable, and what could happen if the original family loses is downright chilling.
Peele is upping the weirdness with his sophomore film, seemingly introducing its science fiction elements earlier and going deeper into their implications. One would normally be hesitant about a young filmmaker trying to cram so much into a single film, but considering how well Peele handled the depth of Get Out, there’s little reason to be worried.
The success of his first film also means he could attract pretty much any actors he wanted, and he got a solid lineup for this film. Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke play the parents of the terrorized family, with Elisabeth Moss and Tim Heidecker also appearing as the friends they’re vacationing with. Not that a Jordan Peele film needs big names (his reputation will sell the film on its own), but it bodes well to see this caliber of performers sign on to any movie.
Get Out is directed by Jordan Peele and stars Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, and Elisabeth Moss. It will be released in the US and the UK on March 15th, 2019. For international release dates, click here.
