THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT Trailer

The Nicolas Cage lovefest continues with The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, the latest from co-writer/director Tom Gormican.

Where to even start with Nic Cage? We all know the story by now; his rise as an incredibly successful and respected actor, the financial hits that sent his career spiraling, and his resurrection through gorefests and the occasional thoughtful project. A lot has been said about Cage during his recent upswing, some of it fair and true celebrations and some of it mythos creating stretches of the truth. The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent seems aware of the latter and looks to be a riff on everything we’ve imagined Cage to be.

I mean, of course, some rich dude would be obsessed with Cage and spend a million dollars to meet him. And of course, when that dude turns out to be a bad guy, the CIA would recruit Cage to help catch him. And of course, Cage would be good at it (or at least make it into a wildly good time).

Gormican, whose only previous feature is the now star-studded romantic comedy That Awkward Moment, is giving Cage-heads everything they want, and of course, Nic himself was happy to oblige this fantasy. Co-starring with the man of the movie is Pedro Pascal, Ike Barinholtz, and Tiffany Haddish.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is directed by Tom Gormican and stars all the Nicolas Cage you could want. It will be released in the US and the UK on April 22nd, 2022. For international release dates, click here.
