THE PREDATOR Trailer

They’re still lean, they’re still mean, and they’re still killing machines. The Predator brings back the fearsome hunters for their fourth solo movie, promising plenty more blood and guts.

This time around, a boy summons the predators to Earth, unleashing them upon everyday locations like schools and suburban homes. The predators haven’t been cooling their heels waiting for a call, though. They’ve figured out some upgrades since our last encounter, so they’re ready for some primo hunting. Lucky for fans, that means they should get more of the gruesome kills that are a staple of the franchise.

Director and co-writer Shane Black was reportedly keen on livening up the series, turning it into a blockbuster event that would elevate Predator to the upper echelon of creature franchises. Black has proven adept at action before, with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys being genre favorites, but neither exactly lit up the box office. He did have a massive financial success with Iron Man 3, but audiences were decidedly split on that MCU entry. Black will have to deliver both quality of product and quantity of tickets sold to bring the Predator series to glory, which quite frankly, he’s yet to do.

Still, he’s got a menagerie of quality performers for the project, with Room’s Jacob Tremblay in the crucial kid role and Boyd HolbrookSterling K. Brown, and Trevante Rhodes as just a few of the human’s facing off against the hunters. All around Black has a good team backing him up, so hopefully this turns out to be the series game changer he’s shooting for.

The Predator is directed by Shane Black and stars Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Olivia Munn, and Jacob Tremblay. It will be released in the UK on September 12th, 2018 and in the US on September 14th, 2018. For international release dates, click here.
