THE OATH Trailer

Politics can be a highly contentious issue, with that in mind the premise of The Oath is not as absurd as we’d like to believe. The oath in question is an oath of loyalty to the President of the United States as opposed to an oath to the Flag or the republic as is the custom. Needless to say, this oath divides the country into two camps, some are in favour while some are fervently against the idea of having to pledge their allegiance to the President.

Over the course of a very tense Thanksgiving dinner, Chris (Ike Barinholtz) and Kai (Tiffany Haddish) try to stay calm while ignoring the fact Chris’ brother Pat (Jon Barrinholtz) supports the idea of the oath. As the evening progresses tensions rise to such an extent authorities have to get involved to prevent violence. With the 2018 midterm elections coming up in November, The Oath couldn’t have come at a better time, let’s hope this film can help families get through their Thanksgiving dinners.

The Oath is directed by Ike Barinholtz and stars Ike Barinholtz, John Cho, Tiffany Haddish, Carrie Brownstein and others. It will be released in the U.S. on October 12th, 2018 with an as of yet unknown U.K. release date. For international release dates click here.
