THE NEW MUTANTS Trailer

Let’s try this again, because I think The New Mutants is actually being released.
You remember that horror-style X-Men spin-off you saw a trailer for two years ago? You know, the one that never came out amid rumors of a disaster? Well, now that Disney’s taken over they’re releasing the thing, apparently without the much talked about reshoots that never came to pass. If that’s true, then we must be getting something pretty close to the movie that was done two years ago, which is supposed to be a mild horror film where mutant young people must fight their greatest fears.
This would be good news for director and co-writer Josh Boone, who nearly saw his movie slip from his grasp and into oblivion. This was his big follow-up to The Fault in our Stars, and with seemingly no other projects in the works, at least he can stake his reputation on his own vision and not some bastardized reassemblage.
And it’s hard to imagine it being a complete bomb, what with the X-Men name and a ton of recognizable young actors. This thing’s got Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Antonio Banderas, and Alice Braga. That caliber cast only whet people’s appetite, and after a long tease, I think we’re finally going to be satiated.
The New Mutants is directed by Josh Boone and stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Charlie Heaton. It will be released in the US on April 3rd, 2020 and in the UK on April 8th, 2020. For international release dates, click here.
