THE MENU Trailer

Dinner goes very wrong in The Menu, the latest from director Mark Mylod.

The evening was supposed to be a lavish affair, and it did start out that way. People who spent an absurd amount of money boarded a boat that took them to an exclusive island restaurant where an esteemed chef had an intricate meal planned for them. As the dishes were served, though, things got increasingly menacing, until it became clear that dinner wasn’t the only thing on the menu for the guests. In the middle of all this is a young couple, one of whom has bought into the experience while the other has their guard up the whole time.

There’s plenty of dark humor in this one, which should make Mylod feel quite comfortable. He’s primarily done television work, but his experience on shows like SuccessionGame of Thrones, and Shameless feels like perfect prep for a comedic horror film.

The people in front of the camera only get more impressive, with the central couple being played by Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult while the scheming chef is played by Ralph Fiennes. Co-stars include Janet McTeer, John Leguizamo, and Hong Chau.

This looks like an unusually lavish film for adults, so savor it while you can.

The Menu is directed by Mark Mylod and stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult, and Ralph Fiennes. It will be released in the US on November 18th, 2022. For international release dates, click here.
