THE LIGHTHOUSE Trailer
Hi all, I'm a 27 year old Dutchman. I'm a…
Imagine living in a small space with only one other human being for long periods of time with not much to do except for a number of mundane tasks to keep a lighthouse operational. Sounds like it might be enough to make you lose your mind? That’s exactly what happens to Thomas Wake (Willem Dafoe) and Ephraim Winslow (Robert Pattinson).
The story takes place in 19th century Maine. Thomas was once an able bodied seaman but a leg injury has forced him to stay ashore. Ephraim used to work as a logger but has moved to start a new life for himself. Thomas is in charge of the light cabin whereas Ephraim has to do all the mundane jobs such as gathering wood, maintaining the machinery and cleaning the lighthouse.
As the men spend more time on the island, their worst fears start to manifest themselves. At one point in the trailer we even see Pattinson fighting some sort of tentacled monster. Considering the positive reviews from the Cannes Film Festival and the wild trailer for the film, it looks like The Lighthouse will be a film you won’t want to miss.
The Lighthouse is directed by Robert Eggers and stars Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson. It will be release in the U.S. on October 18th, 2019 with an as of yet unknown U.K. release date. For international release dates click here.
