THE GREATEST BEER RUN EVER Trailer

A man creates a mission for himself in The Greatest Beer Run Ever, the latest from co-writer/director Peter Farrelly.

With the Vietnam war raging and the country in turmoil, Chickie was doing a whole lot of nothing. While coasting by in New York City he had plenty of time to think about the guys he grew up with and who were now out there in it, which is when he got his not very brilliant idea: to bring them all a beer. So he gathers some cold ones and hops a boat to Vietnam, charting a course through one of the most dangerous places on Earth to bring them each a bit of cheer.

The story would be too preposterous to believe if it wasn’t based on a true story, which yes, means the longtime funny man Farrelly is once again attempting to make a feel-good biopic. Whatever your feelings were on Green Book the film was wildly successful, which means Farrelly could’ve taken his career in any direction. That he returns to this formula again, sans problematic racial layers, means this will likely be another success.

Playing the delusional Chickie is Zac Efron, who continues to build a solid adult career. Co-starring are Russell Crowe, Bill Murray, and Jake Picking.

The Greatest Beer Run Ever is directed by Peter Farrelly and stars Zac Efron, Russell Crowe, and Bill Murray. It will be released in select theaters and on Apple TV+ on September 30th.
