THE GOOD NURSE Trailer

Co-workers face off in The Good Nurse, the latest from director Tobias Lindholm.

It’s natural to be close to your co-workers when you’re nurses in an ER. The work you do is hard, and the pressure means you need to lean on each other to get through tough days. Amy especially needs help because her life at home as a single mother isn’t relaxing, either. That’s why it was easy for her to get close to Charlie, a new nurse who seemed kind and supportive but whose past quickly catches up to him. There’s accusations of irregular deaths wherever he goes, and when they start happening at her hospital, Amy gets sucked into the horrifying investigation.

As a moral thriller that pulls its main character between personal and professional duties, The Good Nurse is right in line with what Lindholm has done in the past. As the director of A War and writer of Another RoundLindholm has proven adept at digging into complicated personal relationships and difficult professional decisions, which makes him the perfect person to take on The Good Nurse.

The other thing this film requires are knockout performances from its two leads, which it should get with the casting of Jessica Chastain as Amy and Eddie Redmayne as Charlie. As long as the two Oscar winners keep their cat-and-mouse relationship tense, the film should prove a captivating watch.

The Good Nurse is directed by Tobias Lindholm and stars Jessica Chastain, Eddie Redmayne, and Kim Dickens. It will be released worldwide on Netflix October 26th.
