THE FOREVER PURGE Trailer

America’s most brutal critic continues with The Forever Purge, the latest from director Everardo Gout.

I’m not pulling your leg here. The Purge series, which began back in 2013 as a home invasion movie within an imagined American holiday where all crime is legal for 12 hours, has been oddly prescient about the country’s trajectory if you can get past the garish, over-the-top horror trappings. This entry, which tells of a group who attempts to violently overthrow the end of the purge following the election of an anti-purger in Election Year, would’ve predicted the dark moment a violent group attempted to overturn America’s lawful election if it had come out in the middle of last year as intended.

James DeMonaco, the man who created the series, directed the first three, and has written every entry, has stated that this will be the last film in the politically conscious franchise. He’s entrusting the ending to Gout, who’s predominantly a television director but will hopefully capture the flair DeMonaco established in the series.

The film centers on a Mexican couple on the run from the cartel played by Ana de la Reguera and Tenoch Huerta. Co-starring with them is Josh Lucas, Cassidy Freeman, and Will Patton.

If this is truly the last entry, let us hope it predicts an end to the madness. Otherwise, we could be in trouble.

The Forever Purge is directed by Everardo Gout and stars Ana de la Reguera, Tenoch Huerta, and Josh Lucas. It will be released in the US on July 2nd, 2021, and in the UK on July 16th, 2021. For international release dates, click here.
