A Stephen King short story is brought to horrifying life in the new adaptation, The Boogeyman.
From the 1978 short story collection “The Night Shift” The Boogeyman takes the classic fear that children live with and forces it into the light.
Sadie (Sophie Thatcher) and her younger sister Sawyer are still struggling with the loss of their mother. In therapy and feeling disconnected from their father (Chris Messina), they accidentally let a terrifying entity into their lives, who wants to feed off their pain.
This should kick off a summer of spooky releases, and hopefully, it does the King story justice.
The Boogeyman is directed by Rob Savage and stars Sophie Thatcher, Chris Messina, and David Dastmalchian. It will be released in theaters in the US on June 2nd.
