TENET Trailer

The latest mystery from Christopher Nolan begins to unravel in the trailer for Tenet.

That’s not to say we understand what Tenet is about. There’s something about time travel, besuited professionals, and maybe an afterlife, but it’s all kept very vague. There’s gunfights, yes, and car chases, too, but if you want to know what it’s all for or what the hell tenet is, then your guess is as good as mine.

What the trailer does communicate is that this is all very Nolan, from its slick, classy style to, of course, that damn puzzle box. Dangling some metaphysical or existential question at the heart of a genre piece is what he did in InceptionMementoInterstellarThe Prestige, and even his Dark Knight trilogy, and it looks like Tenet will bring the same depth of thrills.

As per usual, he’s assembled a hell of a cast, with John David Washington taking the lead as some sort of highly vetted agent. He seems to be searching for whatever the hell tenet is, with some help from the likes of Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, and, of course, Michael Caine.

Look, we don’t need to know what the hell this is about. Most of us trust Nolan, so slapping his name front and center on a big budget piece of heady entertainment is all we need. Now we just cross our fingers that he won’t let us down.

Tenet is directed by Christopher Nolan and stars John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, and Elizabeth Debicki. It will be released in the US and the UK on July 17th, 2020. For international release dates, click here.
