Shane Black
Despite positive feedback from the press, The Nice Guys went overlooked by the public, sadly tanking at the box office. It’s time to fix that problem.
The Predator is a brainless, tone deaf picture, that is quite easily the worst thing writer/director Shane Black has ever laid his hands on.
When a young boy accidentally triggers the universe’s most lethal hunters’ return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
Shane Black’s The Nice Guys couldn’t come at a better time. Actually, strike that. If it had come out just a few months later after the slog of the summer movie season of blockbuster remakes, sequels, reboots, and rehashes had polluted our minds, then perhaps it would be received all the more with acclaim.
The Nice Guys is a comedy action set in the 70s, starring Ryan Gosling as a private investigator, and Russell Crowe, who plays a hired “enforcer” (basically someone who breaks people in two for cash). The two initially meet as Crowe is paid to kick Gosling to bits and breaks his arm. They end up having to work together when a woman disappears, and a porn star commits suicide These events are seemingly unrelated but as events and their investigation unfold, the couple uncovers a conspiracy.
Robert Downey Jr. returns once more as the extravagant Tony Stark and Iron Man. In this third installment of this popular super hero franchise, Tony Stark faces a pretty tough terrorist with (really cool) super hero powers of his own.
