Lulu Wang
While The Farewell brings the identity crisis that many immigrant families face to the big screen, it also is a true-to-life reflection of family dynamics that everyone can relate to.
The Farewell reveals Lulu Wang is a director to watch out for, but loses impact by leaving so many of the themes it wishes to explore unspoken.
In The Farewell, when a Chinese family discover their grandmother has only a short while left to live, they schedule a wedding to gather before she dies.
