SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 Trailer

Sonic is back to save the world in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, directed by Jeff Fowler.
After the first film based on the long-running video game series became a smash hit, a second was quickly made. Now the small-town cop, Tom, and Sonic have a system sorted out, so bad guy Dr. Robotnik has to bring more to the table if he wants to defeat them. So along comes more characters from the video game, most notably Knuckles, who will square off with Sonic on the big screen like they have so many times in your home.
Fowler returns after his success with the first Sonic, indicating that they aren’t straying too far from what worked in that film. This appears to be more an expansion on the universe than any large shift, and why change anything? My nephews (and many other people) are happy for more of the same.
Much of the fun of the first came from Jim Carrey’s signature physical comedy, working Dr. Robotnik’s gargantuan mustache for all its worth. He returns, of course, as does James Marsden as Sonic’s friend Tom and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic. Joining the primary cast in key voice roles is Idris Elba as Knuckles and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails, who is retained from the recent video game and screen iterations of the character, including the credits teaser from the first film.
I know my nephews won’t stop talking about this movie, so I expect this will be another smash hit.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is directed by Jeff Fowler and stars Ben Schwartz, Idris Elba, Jim Carrey, and James Marsden. It will be released in the UK on April 1st and in the US on April 8th. For international release dates, click here.
