Revenge takes place deep underground in SAS: Red Notice, the latest from director Magnus Martens.

Based on the book of the same name, it imagines the hijacking of a train traveling under the English channel. The inaccessibility and tanks of gasoline available to the hijackers make it clear that they had planned this thoroughly, but what no one saw coming was the true cause of the hijacking. Traveling on the train is a soldier who was instrumental in targeting a family of war criminals, and here, deep underwater, the two sides are going to settle their business.

This promises to be a contained action piece for Martens, who has a couple previous features to his name but has mainly been working in television. Directing for shows like Fear the Walking Dead and Banshee should set him up nicely for this genre piece, which has attracted quite a few stars in front of the camera to up its profile.

Sam Heughan and Ruby Rose are the two main adversaries here, and both have proven perfectly comfortable with action like this. But they aren’t the only big names attached, with Andy Serkis, Tom Hopper, and Tom Wilkinson also co-starring.

This is an opportunity to see big stars doing some white knuckle action, so if that’s your thing, make a note of this one.

SAS: Red Notice is directed by Magnus Martens and stars Sam Heughan and Ruby Rose. It will be released in the US in theaters and on-demand on March 16th, 2021. For international release dates, click here.
