RAMBO: LAST BLOOD Trailer
Hi all, I'm a 27 year old Dutchman. I'm a…
Rambo: Last Blood is the latest installment in the Rambo franchise. This time around John Rambo takes on a Mexican cartel in order to save a friend’s daughter. Considering the fact the original novel First Blood by David Morrell ended with Rambo’s death, it seems like over 30 years after the first film would be a good time to end the franchise. Originally Last Blood was billed as the final chapter in the franchise but since the release of the first trailer, Stallone has already said he will play Rambo a 6th time if Last Blood is commercially successful.
The Rambo series is one of those frustrating franchises that started off as a heartfelt story about a man fighting to survive before turning Rambo into a superhero. Each installment since the original has strayed from the realism of the first film by making Rambo seem almost invincible in the second and third film. Rambo undid much of the damage but still featured a nearly invincible Rambo. Rambo seemed to end on a perfect note with Rambo finally returning to the United States after spending much of his life abroad. We’ll have to wait and see whether Rambo: Last Blood will be a worthy addition to the series.
Rambo: Last Blood is directed by Adrian Grunberg and stars Sylvester Stallone, Paz Vega, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Adrian Barraza and Yvette Monreal. It will be released on September 20th, 2019 in the U.K. and the U.S. For international release dates click here.
