RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET: WRECK-IT RALPH 2 Trailer

Sequels are all about expanding the established world, and there’s few that take as huge a leap as Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2.

Where the original Wreck-It Ralph confined itself to video games, the sequel unleashes Ralph and Vanellope onto the maze that is the internet. If this trailer is any indication, then we’ll get gags about every site they got lampooning rights to along with some swipes at the time-wasting possibilities of all that endless information.

What Disney didn’t have to track down rights to was their existing princess lineup, the Marvel universe, and all those beloved Star Wars characters, and you can bet that each one of these properties will be well-represented. Much of the fun of the first movie was encountering real video game icons, so it makes sense that they upped the digital star-studdedness for the sequel.

Rich Moore, who directed the original Wreck-It Ralph, returns as co-director for this project, sharing duties with first time feature director/longtime writer Phil Johnston. It’s a classic case of Disney growing their talent, especially since they are dealing with a seemingly safe product. The writing crew features a similar pairing, with Johnston providing an experienced backbone to pair with Pamela Ribon’s (Moana) relative greenness.

Most of the voice cast returns as well, with John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman back as the featured duo. This first trailer is still coy about what exactly they’re up to, but that cumbersome movie title does give a hint. Ralph still has to wreck things. It’s in his coding.

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 is directed by Rich Moore and Phil Johnston. It stars John C. ReillySarah Silverman, and Jack McBrayer. It will be released in the US on November 21st, 2018 and in the UK on November 30th, 2018. For international release dates, click here.
