Have you ever give up on a dream? The answer to that question is probably yes for most people. When Martha (Diane Keaton) moves into a retirement community she decides to chase an old dream of hers. Martha wanted to be a cheerleader but she was forced to quit after her mother became sick. Once she tells her new neighbor Sheryl (Jackie Weaver) her story, the two decide to start a cheerleading squad. Once they’ve assembled a squad they decide to enter into a cheerleading competition.
Poms looks like a heartfelt comedy about never giving up on your dreams. With a stellar cast and a relatable concept in place, it’s likely to charm its way into viewers’ hearts.
Poms is be directed by Zara Hayes and stars Diane Keaton, Jacki Weaver and Pam Grier. It will be released in the U.S. on May 10th, 2019 with an as of yet unknown U.K. release date. For international release dates click here.
