“When we expect too much out of life, we get smacked by disappointment”.
An intriguing line from an intriguing trailer. Moments of Clarity tells the story of the twentysomething homeschooled and socially awkward Claire. She finds adventure in Danielle, the daughter of a hardened local pastor, on whom she has a crush. They embark on an adventure to escape their home life, and find their worlds are not as they once are.
Funny yet at times heartbreaking, Moments of Clarity is a dark comedy directed by Stev Elam, written Christian Lloyd and Kristen Wallace, the latter of whom also stars in the movie as Claire. Danielle is played by Lyndsy Fonseca, and her father the pastor is played by Eric Roberts.
The movie has already picked up a few awards at the Boston International Film Festival and the Catalina Film Festival, and is making its rounds around the festivals. It’s scheduled for wide release in the U.S. on December 30, 2015, but has no international opening dates as of yet.
