Mom and Dad is an upcoming black comedy about Carly and Josh Ryan (Anne Winters and Zackary Arthur) and their attempts to stay alive during an intense outbreak of mass hysteria which turns all parents into violent psychopaths.
From one day to the next, Carly and Josh start to notice some of their friends’ parents are behaving oddly. As it turns out parents have turned on their kids, giving a whole new meaning to the age old expression “I brought you into this world and I can take you out”. When Carly and Josh notice their own parents (Nicolas Cage and Selma Blair) have succumbed to the virus, they realize they will have to fight for their lives.
Mom and Dad looks like a fun film to watch if you’re a fan of the zombie subgenre of horror, or if you’re a hardcore Nicolas Cage fan. The film will probably bring out some of Nicolas Cage‘s best/worst acting, depending on where you fall on the spectrum of Nicolas Cage fandom. Some people only enjoy his more serious work but for those of us that will watch pretty much anything he’s in, Mom and Dad looks like a worthy addition to the Cage comedy collection.
Mom and Dad is directed by Brian Taylor and stars Nicolas Cage, Selma Blair, Anne Winters and Zackary Arthur. It will be released in the U.S. on January 19th, 2018 with an as of yet unknown U.K. release date. For international release dates click here.
