Loving Vincent is an upcoming animated exploration of the works of legendary Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh. The unique project took shape over the course of 6 years utilizing the talents of 125 painters who carefully recreated Van Gogh’s style of painting to create a vivid animated take on the life and times of the artist.

Tauted as the world’s first oil painted feature film, every frame of the trailer looks absolutely stunning. The film tells the story of an unnamed man who travels to Auvers-sur-Oise determined to figure out what happened to Vincent Van Gogh and who is to blame for his death.

During his stay in Auvers he talks to a number of people who had direct contact with the artist such as Van Gogh’s personal physician Dr. Paul Gachet (Jerome Flynn), his daughter Marguerite (Saoirse Ronan) and some of the other people he painted during his time in Auvers like Pere Tanguy (John Sessions) and Joseph and Armand Roulin (Chris O’Dowd and Douglas Booth).
