LITTLE Trailer

The boss from hell gets taken down a notch in Little, an upcoming comedy staring Issa RaeRegina Hall, and Marsai Martin.

In the film, Rae plays an assistant to a demanding tech leader, one who terrorizes everyone in her employ. At least, she does until an indignant girl comes along and wishes she was small enough to be put in her place. Lo and behold Hall’s megalomaniacal monster wakes up the next day as her teenage self (now played by Martin), a child that no one will take seriously. It’s BigFreaky Friday, a body swap as old as time, and like all of its predecessors, it’s serving up plenty of wacky, fish out of water comedy.

The team up comes courtesy of co-writer and director Tina Gordon Chism, whose credits date back to her script for Drumline and her directorial debut, Peebles. Basically, she’s been working on crowd-pleasing comedies for years, and those instincts for giving people what they want really shines in this trailer.

Particularly, people want Hall chewing scenery, Rae taking her righteous revenge, and Martin acting wise beyond her years. Fun fact, Martin was actually involved in pitching this twist on Big, so at the ripe young age of 14, she’s become one of the youngest executive producers in Hollywood. Are we sure she’s not an adult in a child’s body herself?

Now is when I would write something like “All joking aside” and wrap this up, but the jokes shall not be put aside this time. Lighthearted fun is what movies like Little are all about, and I for one can’t wait to see all the wisecracks this film has to offer.

Little is directed by Tina Gordon Chism and stars Issa RaeMarsai Martin, and Regina Hall. It will be released in the US and the UK on April 12th, 2019. For international release dates, click here.
