Clerks

From ideation to financing, distribution to production, the movie industry is just that, an industry. Let’s take a peek behind the projectors and movie screens at all facets of the films, and the people behind them, that we love. Let’s take another look at some of our favorite movies.

  • Fourteen years after they handcuffed our hearts, Broken Lizard is back with Super Troopers 2. If you want to donate you can check out their IndieGoGo page (they reached their goal in less than 48 hours) or you can check out their Reddit AMA from Tuesday.
  • Zoolander 2 is a certainty after Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson debuted at Paris Fashion Week to officially announce the movie. With less than a year to release, I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot of “live” marketing.

  • Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt is back in Mission Impossible: Rogue NationThe trailer almost assures us that it will be a great popcorn action flick. Say what you will about Mr. Cruise, the man can do some stunt work.

  • Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice has been rolling out character images for the past year or so. Most recently we were introduced to Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor. Between this shot and the picture of Jason Momoa as Aquaman, this movie is starting to look like a real Marvel rival.

  • Kevin Smith has entered an odd leg of his career. After taking a chance with Tusk, Smith is going back to the well with Clerks III (which has been in the works for a while) and more interestingly, Mallrats 2 which he just announced a week and a half ago. This one is at least a couple years out, hopefully Smith can juggle all these projects.

Normally I’d rally against so many sequels coming to market, but I think all of these films hold a lot of promise in their respective genres.

Which of these are you most looking forward to? What sequels are on your radar? Let us know in the comments!
