LATE NIGHT Trailer

When late night talk show host Katherine Newbury (Emma Thompson) is told her show is about to get cancelled she decides to shake things up. One of the things she’s been criticized for is the fact her entire writing staff consists of white men. Katherine decides to change this by hiring Molly Patel (Mindy Kaling). With Molly on board the show starts to move in a new direction which helps Katherine rediscover her initial passion for comedy.

Late Night looks like an interesting film about a young woman of color in a corporate environment. With shades of films like Working Girl and The Devil Wears Prada in the trailer, Late Night appears like a film with something to say about the position of women in the workplace both at the ground level and at the top.

Late Night is directed by Nisha Ganatra and stars Mindy Kaling, Emma Thompson and John Lithgow. Late Night will be released in the U.K. and the U.S. on June 7th, 2019 by Amazon Studios. For international release dates click here.
