There’s new blood in the directing chair, and Wes Ball hopes to revive the epic story. The film takes place years after the last film ends.
Noa (Owen Teague) plays a young ape who goes on a journey and discovers a tyrant ape who refuses the teachings that Caesar had started.
While it’s a shame that Andy Serkis (the master of motion capture) isn’t involved, Caesar’s story ended beautifully. From this trailer alone, this looks like a thrilling return to form while bringing in narrative elements from the original story.
Wes Ball directs, and it stars Owen Teague, Freya Allan, and Kevin Durand. It will be released in theaters in the US on May 10th.
