JAUJA Trailer

Jauja tells the tale of a Danish father & daughter duo traveling unknown lands and it looks like a visually interesting film. From the opening of the trailer you notice a lack of color saturation. Current Hollywood trends go against this style since it’s outdated. Truly, this is wonderful. All of this comes together to create a film worth seeing, especially when it’s on a limited run in the U.S. Oh, and it stars Viggo Mortensen. Check out the trailer:
The cinematography reminds me of John Ford films where the actor is in the center of the shot. This is especially apparent because of its reduced aspect ratio. It’s refreshing to see something old yet new after so many movies that aggressively use CGI that doesn’t look or feel real.
Jauja is directed Lisandro Alonso and features Viggo Mortenson as the creative powerhouse fulfilling duties of producer and multi-level collaborator. He helped in music production, artwork, and correcting subtitles in three different languages. Jauja comes to U.S theaters March 20th 2015 and les salles de cinémas en France 22 April 2015. It has pretty much already opened in every other country.
