JACK GOES HOME Trailer

In the world of movies, you should never go home. It rarely goes well, and even if you do attain some measure of pathos, it comes at great cost. Jack doesn’t have much choice in Jack Goes Home; you have to attend your father’s funeral, but if your mother is horror fixture Lin Shaye, you should really know better.
And so the tragic death sets off a chain of revelation and terror for Jack, all of which emanates from the attic of an ominous house. It’s a familiar horror setup, ripe for old family secrets to come spilling out on a wave of blood.
Leading the recognizable cast is Rory Culkin, who’s been struggling of late to find consistent work. Don’t take this as grasping for a role, though, considering the other people involved in the project. He gets to act against not only Shaye but Natasha Lyonne and Britt Robertson as well, and with five other projects in some stage of production, this could be start of a resurgence for the youngest Culkin.
Jack Goes Home premiered way back at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, marking the first time at the fest for writer/director Thomas Dekker. Dekker is better known for his acting career, which includes a long list of television and film roles, most notably John Connor in Fox’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
With the release delayed until October, Jack Goes Home is clearly looking to cash in on the Halloween atmosphere. The solid cast and sturdy premise should allow it to find an audience in the scariest month of the year.
Jack Goes Home is directed by Thomas Dekker and stars Rory Culkin, Lin Shaye, and Britt Robertson. It will be released in the U.S. on October 14th, 2016. Further release dates are not currently known.
