IT CHAPTER TWO Trailer

The clown is at it again in It Chapter Two, the conclusion of Andy Muschietti’s adaptation of the Stephen King novel of the same name.

Having already scared up a huge audience for the losers’ club first battle with Pennywise, this film is expected to get even creepier to lure viewers back. It’s been 27 year since the events of the first movie, and while the crew has long since gone their separate ways, they return once kids start going missing again. Derry holds more painful memories than just killer clowns, though, making their task all the more complicated.

While the first film came with some trepidation given the successful adaptions that preceded it, Muschietti managed to drum up scares all his own. Fans should be happy to see him back at the helm for Chapter Two, and another successful outing could mark him as a horror director to be reckoned with.

This trailer shows the series’ confidence; it’s mostly one scene involving Jessica Chastain as adult Beverly, not really bothering to explain the plot or lean too heavily on the iconic clown. The rest of the stacked cast, which includes James McAvoyBill HaderJay RyanIsaiah MustafaJames Ransone, and Andy Bean, are tacked on at the end. It covers what’s important: that the group is back, that the clown is at it again, and that all hell is about to break loose. That should be enough to get people back in the cinema.

It Chapter Two is directed by Andy Muschietti and stars James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, and Bill Skarsgård. It will be released in the US and the UK on September 6th, 2019. For international release dates, click here.
