INHERITANCE Trailer

Dad left behind more than his family bargained for in Inheritance, the latest from director Vaughn Stein.

If you come from money, you may not want to look too hard into where it came from. Chances are there’s something uncouth buried in there, but in Lauren’s case, she didn’t have a choice. There was literally something her father had buried, well, someone, and she was designated to keep the secret after his death. As shocking as this revelation is, the man she finds claims to have much more to show her, things that could unravel her entire family.

This promises to be a twisty thriller, something Stein has some experience teasing out. His previous film, the noir Terminal, wasn’t exactly well-received, but at least it let him test (and hopefully eliminate) some approaches to this kind of material.

Similarly hoping to bounce back in lead Lily Collins, who’s made several attempts to break out without a major success. Still, she’s been solid in things like Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile and To the Bone, so I’m confident she can pull off the material. Co-starring with her is Simon Pegg, Connie Nielsen, and Chace Crawford.

While Stein’s previous stumble does dampen anticipation a bit, this still looks like a slick little thriller and one that is, apparently, still on the release schedule.

Inheritance is directed by Vaughn Stein and stars Lily Collins, Simon Pegg, and Connie Nielsen. It will be available on DirecTV on April 23rd and will be released In Theaters, On Digital and On Demand by Vertical Entertainment on May 22nd.
