THE INCREDIBLES 2 Trailer

Everyone’s favorite superhero family is back in Incredibles 2, the long-awaited sequel to a Pixar classic.

Hailing from an alternate universe where people don’t love superheroes, the Parr family is still trying to rejuvenate their image. As covered in The Incredibles, they were forced to hang up their suits after collateral damage piled up, but they all still have a hankering for some action. Now Elastigirl has a chance to turn public opinion, meaning gender roles are being reversed and Mr. Incredible is being left at home with the kids.

I know, the premise seems a bit old school, but if the film continues the legacy left by The Incredibles then it will surprise us again. The first film became a beloved classic not because it broke new ground but because it had wit and heart, and the trailer shows flashes of both.

Luckily most of the voice cast returned, with the only change to the family being Huck Milner replacing Spencer Fox as Dash. New villains opened up some roles, though, so get ready for additional voices to pop up like Bob Odenkirk and Catherine Keener.

Considering that writer/director Brad Bird is back at the helm, it seems likely that the series will pick up right in the charming place we left it. Hopefully that means it will stay on its pedestal.

Incredibles 2 is directed by Brad Bird and stars Holly HunterBob Odenkirk, and Samuel L. Jackson. It will be released in the US on June 15th, 2018 and in the UK on July 13th, 2018. For international release dates, click here.
