HOUSE OF GUCCI Trailer

A fashion empire comes under the microscope in House of Gucci, the latest from director Ridley Scott.

Everybody loves a tale of rich people being terrible, and it’s even better if it’s true. That’s what makes the story of the Gucci family, who created the wildly successful fashion company of the same name and nearly ran it into the ground, so enticing. The extravagance with which they lived and the downright evil deeds they committed while wallowing in everything their name came to represent might as well be otherworldly to most of us, and yet they somehow existed right alongside us.

The trailer makes it look like this will be a slick take on their complicated family dynamics, which is to be expected when you’ve got Ridley Scott at the helm. Known for making audience-friendly but intelligent pieces of pop culture, perhaps best represented by the Alien franchise, Scott is more than capable of distilling decades of family turmoil into a deliciously good time.

At the fore of the sprawl is Adam Driver as rising son Maurizio Gucci and Lady Gaga as his wife Patrizia Reggiani. Anyone familiar with the history of this family knows that that relationship gets…messy, so that should be a fun pair to focus on. Hovering around them is Jared Leto as patriarch Paolo Gucci, Al Pacino as uncle Aldo, and Salma Hayek as clairvoyant Pina Auriemma. Told you this story gets complicated, so put on something comfy (or fancy) to check it out.

House of Gucci is directed by Ridley Scott and stars Adam Driver, Lady Gaga, and Jared Leto. It will be released in the US on November 24th, 2021, and in the UK on November 26th, 2021. For international release dates, click here.
