HOT SUMMER NIGHTS Trailer

Timothée Chalamet stars as Daniel, a teenager who gets in over his head in the drug-dealing business, in the first trailer for new thriller, Hot Summer Nights.

Chalamet is one of the hottest young stars working in Hollywood today. His break-out came with back-to-back hits last year, as Elio in the tender and beautiful Call Me By Your Name, and as Kyle in the all-conquering Lady Bird. Hot Summer Nights looks set to be one more step in his meteoric rise within Hollywood.

Set in 1991 the film follows Chalamet‘s Daniel, a timid teen, who is sent to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, for the summer. That may seem like cliched coming-of-age fare, but given the trailer, Hot Summer Nights looks to be treading a different path. Writer/Director Elijah Bynum looks to have crafted a stylish thriller as Daniel gets mixed up with local drug dealer, Hunter (Alex Roe), whilst simultaneously pursuing Hunter’s sister, McKayla (Maika Monroe). No doubt the stakes and tension rise as the temperature rockets and a hurricane looms.

Hot Summer Nights, Bynum‘s debut behind the camera, has caused quite a storm on the festival circuit over the last year. No wonder then that it was picked up for distribution by A24 who have developed a great reputation themselves over the last five years for consistently backing quality movies. They’ll no doubt be hoping Hot Summer Nights will be another one to add to their impressive list.

Hot Summer Nights is directed by Elijah Bynum and stars Timothée Chalamet, Alex Roe and Maika Monroe. It will be available exclusively on DIRECTV on June 28th and is released theatrically in the US on July 27th, 2018.
