Hostiles is an upcoming western about Army Captain Joseph J. Blocker (Christian Bale) who is forced to escort dying Cheyenne war chief Yellow Hawk (Wes Studi) and his family across hostile territory all the way to Montana where Hawk is to spend his last remaining days. The two have been enemies for years but their situation dictates they work together to stay alive. While on the trail they pick up Rosalie Quaid (Rosamund Pike) a traumatized woman who’s recently lost her family in a raid.

Hostiles is the fourth film Scott Cooper has directed, given the fact that his efforts since his directorial debut Crazy Heart have been a bit hit and miss with audiences, it’ll be interesting to see whether this film will do better with audiences as his previous film with Bale, Out of the Furnace did not perform well at the box office. The same could be said about Black Mass which though highly anticipated as the film that would resurrect Johnny Depp‘s interest in playing serious roles failed to live up to expectations even though it did better financially.

Hostiles is directed by Scott Cooper and stars Christian BaleQ’orianka Kilcher, Wes Studi and Scott Wilson.

At the time of writing the release date for this film is unknown as the film hasn’t been picked up by a distributor yet. Release dates will appear here as they are announced.

Are you excited to see Christian Bale return to the western genre after a 10 year hiatus? Let us know in the comments?
