HALLOWEEN ENDS Trailer

Nothing ever ends, but supposedly the saga of Michael and Laurie will be in Halloween Ends, the latest from co-writer/director David Gordon Green.

I know the title promises an end but the entire Jurassic World trilogy promised me a world and only gave me parks, so excuse me for being skeptical. Allegedly this third entry in Green’s stab at the Halloween series will break the bond between Laurie and Michael, which has been going strong since 1978. It’s a fitting endgame for a trilogy that focused on the psychological ramifications of the killer on his victims, but with the second entry, Halloween Kills, feeling like a step back from the success of 2018’s HalloweenGreen will need to nail the landing to make the trilogy feel worthwhile.

This trailer isn’t interested in spelling out precisely how we get to the teased battle. Still, supposedly the film takes place four years after Kills, with Laurie on the semi-stable ground and living with her granddaughter, Allyson. The town has been quiet, but the violent death of a young boy stirs up the suspicion that Michael is back.

Of course, this means Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Laurie, possibly in her last appearance as the iconic character. Andi Matichak and Will Patton also return with Rohan Campbell joining the franchise.

If this truly is the end for Laurie and Michael, this might also signal a break from the franchise altogether. It had been nearly ten years since the last film before Green devised a way back in, so if you’re a franchise fan, definitely make sure you get your bloody kicks now.

Halloween Ends is directed by David Gordon Green and stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Andi Matichak, and Will Patton. It will be released in the US and the UK on October 14th, 2022. For international release dates, click here.
