You ever get the feeling that Gerard Butler gets typecast for ancient myth stories? In Gods of Egypt, we have the once proud Leonidas as Set, the god of the desert, storms, disorder and violence. In this instance, he’s just the god of darkness who has plunged this CGI-whitewashed Egypt into chaos and conflict. His opponent is a young thief, with a kidnapped significant other, looking to dethrone this vaguely Scottish Egyptian god. Along the way, he has the aid of Danish god Horus (Coster-Waldau), the god of the sun and kingship.

Gods of Egypt is directed by Alex Proyas. It stars Brenton Thwaites and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. U.S. audiences get a February 26^th, 2016 release while U.K. audiences have to wait until April 8^th, 2016. For a list of other dates, click here.
