After his supporting roles in the hugely successful 12 Years a Slave and Ridley Scott‘s very underwhelming The Counselor last year, Brad Pitt is ready to take on the lead part again. His next big upcoming project is Fury, written and directed by David Ayer, famous for crime/cop movies like End of Watch, Harsh Times and Training Day. Other cast members include Shia LeBeouf, Logan Lerman and Scott Eastwood.
Fury takes place during the final months of World War II, 1945. Wardaddy (Pitt), Allied sergeant of the U.S. Army, commands a Sherman tank called “Fury” and its crew on a mission behind enemy lines. Their mission is to strike at the core of Nazi Germany, but they’re seriously outnumbered and outgunned. The movie tells of their heroic journey.

This movie is probably going to have us on the edges of our seats, biting our nails off. It may just become the Saving Private Ryan of this century. I’m also curious to see if this is finally going to get Brad Pitt the Best Actor Oscar he’s been hunting after for so long.
Here are some fun facts about Fury:
On 15 October 2013, a stuntman was accidentally stabbed in the shoulder by a bayonet while rehearsing at the set in Pyrton. He was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford by an air ambulance, police confirmed that they were treating it as an accident. (source)
In November the film caused controversy by shooting a scene on Remembrance Day in which extras wore Nazi uniforms. Ayer apologized for the incident, and Sony also made an apology. (source)
Shia LaBeouf reportedly pulled out his own tooth and refused to shower during filming, angering the cast and crew. (source)
Fury is set for release on November 14, 2014 in the U.S. and on October 24 in the U.K. For international release dates, check here.
