FATHER FIGURES Trailer

Father Figures is an upcoming road trip comedy about Kyle (Owen Wilson) and Peter Reynolds (Ed Helms), two brothers who find out the man they thought was their father was not their real father. Their mother, Helen Baxter (Glenn Close), lied about who their father was because it was easier than telling them she didn’t know. Once she tells Kyle and Peter the truth, the two brothers decide to go on a road trip to visit three men, Ronald Hunt (J.K. Simmons), legendary NFL player Terry Bradshaw and Dr. Tinkler (Christopher Walken) who might be their father.
Father Figures certainly has the potential to be funny but one thing that does stand out about this trailer is the fact that this film seems to go out of its way to point out Helen Baxter’s promiscuous behavior during the ’70s which seems pretty lazy. Hopefully the two jokes about this subject in the trailer are the only ones in the film. Father Figures is Lawrence Sher‘s directing debut after many years as a cinematographer working on films such as Dan in Real Life and The Hangover Trilogy. He is currently working on the next chapter in Legendary’s MonsterVerse, Godzilla: King of Monsters. It will be interesting to see what he has come up with.
Father Figures is directed by Lawrence Sher and stars Ed Helms, Owen Wilson, Glenn Close, Christopher Walken and others. It will be released in the U.K. on February 16th, 2018 and in the U.S. on December 22nd, 2017. For international release dates, click here.
