ENDINGS, BEGINNINGS Trailer

A woman’s year of exploration is dominated by love in Endings, Beginnings, the latest from co-writer and director Drake Doremus.

Daphne just got out of a serious relationship, and following age-old advice, she intended to take some time to herself. That plan is thrown off, though, when sparks fly with a stranger, then it goes completely off the rails when she falls for his friend. Daphne’s unintentionally fallen into a series of relationships, ones that aren’t so easy to keep apart and will have a lasting impact on her life.

Romance is nothing new to Doremus, as most of his films revolve around complications of the heart. Like CrazyEquals, and Breathe In all involve relationships that cannot happen for reasons far greater than what’s set up in Endings, Beginnings.  Hopefully, he finds a way to make this scenario just as intense.

He’s got an impressive trio to bring this to life in Shailene Woodley, Jamie Dornan, and Sebastian Stan. All have done their fair share of big projects, and it’ll be nice to see their skills on display in a smaller, more character-driven film.

This premiered at TIFF to underwhelming reviews, but it is one of the many films going straight to VOD release given *waves arms* everything. The team behind it is strong, so it probably might not be a waste to check it out.

Endings, Beginnings is directed by Drake Doremus and stars Shailene Woodley, Jamie Dornan, and Sebastian Stan. It will be released in the US on VOD on April 17th, 2020. For international release dates, click here.
