DUAL Trailer

A woman gets into an evenly matched fight in Dual, the latest from writer/director Riley Stearns.
Sarah was facing a grim future. She had received a terminal diagnosis, but since she lives in a time where technology has advanced enough for human cloning, she can give her family and friends someone to ease their loss. She opts for getting a clone, but soon after this new person comes into the world, she miraculously recovers. This is when the situation becomes thorny; the law is that an original and a clone can’t live full lives together, so a date is set for them to battle to the death.
This is a trippy science-fiction setup, and you expect no less from Stearns. He made the uncomfortable, funny, and violent film The Art of Self-Defense, which took clear aim at modern masculinity. Dual, with its main character literally fighting herself, will likely also have themes of grappling with identity.
Starring as Sarah is the great Karen Gillan with Aaron Paul co-starring as her trainer for the inevitable fight.
This promises to be a heady, odd little science-fiction scenario, and with such a strong team behind it, it’s almost certain to hit its mark.
Dual is directed by Riley Stearns and stars Karen Gillan, Aaron Paul, and Theo James. It will be released in the US on April 15th, 2022. Further release dates are not currently known.
