DREAM HORSE Trailer

Toni Collette spices up her life in Dream Horse, the latest from director Euros Lyn.

Life isn’t exactly hopping for Jan. She works dead-end jobs and wiles away her free time in the same places with the same people. There’s just not much to do in her small Welsh village, so she comes up with a scheme to lift herself and her friends all out of their doldrums. She proposes chipping in for a race horse, and despite some initial skepticism, their gamble takes them farther than they ever imagined.

This has ‘feel good’ written all over it, which can be a difficult tone to hit without becoming saccharine. Lyn will have to steer this thing just right to keep people on board, and while he doesn’t have a ton of feature experience to lean on (his only previous film is the horror movie The Library Suicides), he’s done a ton of TV, including the beloved Doctor Who and Torchwood.

Those in front of the camera are a more sure bet, especially since Collette can do anything you throw at her. The supporting cast of neighbors is also strong, with Damian Lewis, Joanna Page, and Owen Teale co-staring. If this lands right, this could be a bright spot amid the spring releases.

Dream Horse is directed by Euros Lyn and stars Toni Collette, Damian Lewis, and Owen Teale. It will be released in the UK on April 17th, 2020 and in the US on May 1st, 2020. For international release dates, click here.
