Deliver Us from Evil is another horror film that claims it is based on true events. The story focuses on NY police officer Ralph Sarchie (Eric Bana) who is investigating a series of inexplicable crimes and strange, frightening occurrences. Along with along with exorcist Mendoza (Edgar Ramirez), Officer Sarchie intends to solve the mysteries and combat the demonic presence that has overtaken the city. Director Scott Derrickson brings us along on a terrifying ride through the Bronx breakout. Take a look.
This is one of those trailers that had me hiding behind a pillow waiting for the scare! I’m leery that they revealed their best jump-out-at-you moment in the preview, but I have high hopes for this movie. Just from watching this short trailer, you get a taste of exorcism, death, demons, and even poltergeists. I will never look at stuffed animals the same again!
The cast also includes familiar names Olivia Munn and Joel McHale, both of whom I look forward to seeing in a horror atmosphere. All in all, I’m willing to take on this viewing with my eyes (maybe only half) open.
Deliver Us from Evil will be released in theaters on July 2, 2014 in the U.S., and August 22, 2014 in the UK. You can find the release date in your country by clicking here.
So, who’ll be holding my hand in the theater opening weekend? Let me know in the comments!
