DADDY’S HOME 2 Trailer

Daddy’s Home 2 is the upcoming sequel to the 2015 comedy about Brad Whitaker (Will Ferrell) and Dusty Mayron (Mark Wahlberg). During the first film, Mark Wahlberg played the bad ass biker giving Will Ferrell‘s pushover dad a very hard time but things are very different this time around as the newly blended Whitaker-Mayron household attempts to celebrate Christmas while having to deal with the presence of Dusty’s father, grandpa Kurt Mayron (Mel Gibson). His presence proves to be highly disruptive as he is not exactly (grand)dad material. On top of that, he is not the only grandpa to show up as Brad’s father, grandpa Jonah Whitaker (John Lithgow) has decided to drop in as well.
Daddy’s Home 2 looks like it will be a continuation of the humour of the first film, which was mostly at Will Ferrell‘s expense. Let’s hope the laughs will be a little more evenly spread as the first film was a constant barrage of misfortune for poor Brad. Grandpa Kurt’s presence seems designed for the specific purpose of making fun of Dusty a little bit more which would be good. Daddy’s Home 2 looks like it will be a fairly predictable yet funny holiday film that will produce some good laughs.
Daddy’s Home 2 is directed by Sean Anders and stars Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini, John Cena with Mel Gibson and John Lithgow. It will be released in the U.S. on November 10th, 2017 and in the U.K. on November 22nd, 2017. For international release dates, click here.
